The idea of the article arose when we saw a Netflix series called “The English Game”, which sparked our interest to deepen into the topic of the founding values of soccer. We wrote this article during the covid19 pandemic. Such clarification is relevant, in order to define this text interpreted from the present, configuring a process of reading, dialogue and hermeneutical reflection, based on the appropriation of some concepts by the philosopher Paul Ricoeur. This historical inflection “stopped” everyday life for all the habitants of the word, which allowed us to change the rhythm and from there we paused to try to analyze events around soccer and the most beloved team in the City of Guadalajara, Las Chivas. Which talks aboutthe transformation, not only of this sport, but of the city itself.
