Abstract

This article analyzes the configuration of the electricity market and the working conditions of workers at the photovoltaic company Fortius, located in Jalisco. The text problematizes the notion of a just transition of energy associated with work and employment. Therefore, aspects such as the absence or existence of stable and protected working conditions are reflected on. Likewise, the scope and types of jobs that are generated by this renewable energy sector in the territory are analyzed. The structure of the text is made up of three sections. First, a brief review is made of the notion of just transition. Second, the dynamics of the electricity market in Jalisco are addressed and third, the working and employment conditions of the personnel of the Fortius company are reflected on. The general objective of this work focuses on identifying and understanding the present and future of labor rights and decent working conditions within the framework of the energy transition.
