Abstract

This work aimed to carry out a descriptive statistical analysis and multivariate correspondence analysis of hunger problems in households in the poorest half of Mexico that had at least one person over 65 years of age in 2022 and obtained income from transfers from the welfare program for older adults. In the poorest households, government transfers are of utmost importance when combating extreme hunger problems such as not eating, eating less, or begging for food. Likewise, they are a form of complementary income with retirement or pension income to reduce any hunger-related problems.
