Inequality?

Cybercultur@ and “A world where many worlds fit”

Abstract

In this reflection, adopting a complex and necessarily multidisciplinary perspective, and utilizing the analysis of the Cibercultur@ proposal (González, 2015), the paradox of equality-diversity is explored as a dynamic construction of a kind of "cultural ecologies" (social engineering?) that, as symbolic, praxiological, and relational tropes (fronts), foster the emergence of deliberate processes of nosotrificación (Lenkersdorf, 2002) and identities that are simultaneously plural and shared. Aligned with this epistemic platform of distributed intelligence, the relevance of the Zapatista call to build "a world where many worlds fit" is argued. This motto transcends the economic-political dimension and the ideals of fraternity, equality, and freedom subscribed or implied in the Anglo-European revolutions that gave birth the so-called modernity. In this context, inequality is analyzed as a complex ontological and anthropological device, surpassing mere wealth distribution or hegemonic inclination. What is presented here is a modest and limited endeavor to challenge our epistemological lenses.
