Abstract

Power relations generate actions of domination and subjugation; that is, the one who exercises power will subjugate he one who resents domination. At times, this relationship manifests smoothly because symbolic violence, symbolic power, and the symbolic system are often not recognized by one or both parties within the power dynamic. The one or both parties within the power dynamic. The one who holds power issues discourses to legitimize their position. the one subjected to domination issues discourses either to conform to or to resist their position. For this reason, power relations can become tense when Resistance emerges from the dominated individual, particularly after reflecting and recognizing that their position is harmfully affected by the dominating actions of the one in power. In this context, we refer to power and domination as linked to the State and law enforcement, as well as to globalization and neoliberalism. On the other hand, we associate resistance with indigenous peoples and women, who oppose imposed systems that deepen inequality.
